Cannes, 7 October 2016 - Svjetlost Eye Clinic was awarded the prestigious "Best Regional Hospital" award in Cannes, as a recognition of excellence in the field of ophthalmology at the European level.The prestigious award was given to Svjetlost Eye Clinic by the European Business Assembly, Oxford, UK, at the "Excellence in Quality and Management" forum. Svjetlost Ophthalmology Clinic is the winner of the top award among the nominated health institutions of various fields based on the following professional criteria: management, excellence of employees, care for the safety of the patient, technology infrastructure and innovative approach to health and medical issues. In addition, the quality of the provided service, professional accomplishments in the field, domestic and international recognition and testimonials of patients were also taken into consideration. The founder and head of Svjetlost Eye Clinic, professor Nikica Gabrić is the winner of the "Managers of the Year" award.

Svjetlost Eye Clinic is the only private clinic in Croatia and the only special hospital for ophthalmology. It was founded in 1998, and has performed 100,000 eye surgeries of all kinds so far. In addition to Zagreb, Svjetlost Ophthalmology Clinic is also operating in Split as well as Sarajevo and Banja Luka in the neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina. Last year we earned the most significant international recognition for quality at the world's largest video-surgery conference in Milan, where surgeons from Svjetlost Eye Clinic received "an Ophthalmology Oscar" among several European centers by performing a surgery live in front of several thousand ophthalmologists from around the world.
